Brentford vs Manchester United Odds: Could Eriksen haunt his former club?
When? Saturday 13th August, 17:30 BST
Where? Brentford Community Stadium, London
Broadcaster: Sky Sports Main Event & Premier League
Last result: Manchester United 3-0 Brentford
Brentford host Manchester United in their first home game of the Premier League 2022/23 season. The London based side will be looking to build on their positive start and get a result against a Man United side who are at a low.
The Brentford vs Manchester United odds remain in favour of United at 1/1, but will the Red Devils be able to crucify the Bees?
Brentford
Brentford had an exceptional 2021/22 season, they stayed up with flying colours and played some great football at times. Manager Thomas Frank has instilled a never say die attitude in his team that makes them very entertaining to watch. They never stop, they’ll chase games all the way to the final whistle, which is how they managed to scrape a point against Leicester!
After going 2-0 down in the first half, not many gave Brentford a prayer of claiming a draw- Leicester are a strong team with high ambitions of their own. The fact that Brentford were able to grab a point is a credit to their resilience.
Expect them to give United hell even if they concede a few goals. If you’re backing Brentford to win, we’d suggest looking at the scorecast options. Head to the Brentford vs Manchester United Odds, find the ‘Player’ section and scroll down to Ivan Toney scorecast. If Brentford win, the likely score is 1-0 and the likely scorer is Ivan Toney. This comes in at 30/1.
Manchester United off to an awful start
Erik ten Hag took charge of his first home game last Saturday as his team hosted Brighton. After a positive pre-season, the vibes were good and United were expected to claim victory by the bookies. This couldn’t have been further from the truth. Brighton controlled the first half with constant runs, pressing and quick passing. United couldn’t get close.
The fans sitting in Old Trafford were shell shocked by the display. It was stunned silence as Brighton fans lapped it up. There was a lack of desire from United, something that any team can smell and punish. One of the few positives to take was the former Brentford man Christian Eriksen. The Dane was excellent in the second half after being moved back into a deeper role.
Brentford miss him and it’ll be interesting to see if he retains his place. If he does, I can see him grabbing a goal. It’s one of those that’s just in the script. The odds of this are 4/1.
Brentford vs Manchester Odds: Predictions
Brentford vs Manchester United odds remain favour of United, but with the odds at evens (1/1) the bookies are clearly backing Brentford in some way.
I can see United coming out on top, it’s a must win game after their shocking start. Erik ten Hag and his players have it all to prove and I think they will claim their first three points of the season here.
I can see Christian Eriksen getting on the scoresheet too along with Cristiano Ronaldo who looks destined to return to the starting XI after a controversial summer. His cameo against Brighton was impressive. Ronaldo to score is only at 11/10.
As for the score, I can see United scoring thrice. 3-1 United. The odds for this score are 16/1.
Can United bounce back? Or will they be stung by the bees?
