Champions League Groups 2021/22: Group of death for Man City, United with the luck of the draw, Chelsea meets Juve, Liverpool vs Atletico and Milan
On Thursday 26 August, the Champions League draw 2021/22 took place in Istanbul to determine the Champions League groups 2021/22.
Last year’s winner FC Chelsea will face Juventus, Zenit and Malmö in Group H. Finalist Manchester City plays in Group A against PSG with Messi and Neymar, as well as German runners-up Leipzig and Club Brugge. In Group F, Manchester United will compete with Villareal, Atalanta and Young Boys for the knockout phase. Liverpool was drawn into Group B, where they will meet Atletico, Porto and Milan.
Thomas Tuchel (Chelsea) was voted the best coach of the year, while Jorginho (Chelsea) received the award for the best player, Sandra Paños (Chelsea) for the best goalkeeper, Ruben Dias (City) for the best defender and Michael Essien (Chelsea) for the best midfielder. Best forward was Erling Haaland from Dortmund.
