South Korea vs Portugal
- When? Friday, 2nd December, 1500
- Where? Education City Stadium
With Portugal already through, this game will be a chance for some of their non-starters to get some minutes and some of the starters to have a rest. Cristiano Ronaldo will have a well deserved rest after a fantastic performance against Uruguay, as will Bruno Fernandes who scored a double on the night.
South Korea needs to win this otherwise they’re out, it’s as simple as that. Heung-Min Son and co have been very disappointing so far. They put in a decent shift against the odds in the opener versus Uruguay, but were unable to get more than a draw.
In their second they faced Ghana, who are by no means an easy opponent but the easiest of the lot on paper. This was a game that they needed to win. By half time they found themselves 2-0 down but were able to fight back and make it 2-2, before Kudus bagged to make it 3-2 and break Korean hearts.
They have it all to do against a very strong Portugal side, if they pull it off it would certainly go down in Korean history for years to come. The occasion is huge.
Portugal will have ambitions of their own, they’ve never won the World Cup and going unbeaten in the group would give them great confidence to go all the way.
Group H Matchday 3 Odds: Our Pick
The stakes are so high for Korea, for many of these players it’ll be the biggest game of their careers. We think that they’ll put in an excellent shift, but the sheer quality of Portugal will give them enough to secure a point.
- Match Result: Draw
- Under 2.5 goals
- 15/4

We can see a 1-1 or 0-0 draw in this one. The force of South Korea will get them a goal but as we said, the quality of Portugal is overwhelming and they’ll surely grab a goal. What are your thoughts?
Ghana vs Uruguay
- When? Friday, 2nd December, 1500
- Where? Al Janoub Stadium
Ghana vs Uruguay. To a casual football fan it may not seem like much but there is plenty of history behind this fixture. It all came back in 2010 at the World Cup in South Africa. It was the quarter-finals and the two met in what was a very iconic fixture. In normal time it was 1-1 and in extra-time it erupted.
Ghana had put the ball perfectly on target for a goal, but Luis Suarez had other ideas. He saved it off the line with his hand! Earning himself a red card and a Ghana penalty. Assamoah Gyan stepped up and blazed it over the bar. Uruguay went on to win the tie on pens…
This has led Ghana to have a massive vendetta against Uruguay and Suarez, making this game a must see. A win for either side would book them a place in the last 16, should South Korea fail to beat Portugal. Everything is on this fixture once again.
If you’ve been with us a while, you’ll know that we picked Uruguay as our World Cup winner. For this reason, we believe they will be able to get one over Ghana once again. With the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Fede Valverde and Darwin Nunez the South American side will have enough. Which leads us to our pick:
Group H Matchday 3 Odds: Our Pick
The experience and intensity of Uruguay will win them this game. They were very unlucky to lose against Portugal and they’ll use this vengeance to secure the victory.
- Match Result: Uruguay
- Darwin Nunez to score
- Fede Valverde to be carded
- 9/1
