Real Madrid – Bayern at the Santiago Bernabéu

We’re a day away from finding out who will be the second team in the final of this year’s Champions League campaign. The Santiago Bernabeu and Real Madrid will host Bayern Munich. Los Blancos have just claimed their 36th La Liga title, whilst Bayern have lost out on their domestic title to Alonso’s Leverkusen. Madrid have not lose a match since January, where they exited the Copa del Rey in the Round of 16 to Atletico Madrid. Bayern failed to change that in the first leg, where they conceded a late penalty as they game ended in a 2-2 draw thanks to Vinicius Junior.

Everything is still all to play for in the second leg. Both teams are considered European giants with a combined 20 titles between them. In the past, these sides have met each other several times. More recently, Madrid have knocked Bayern out of the competition in 2017/2018 and 2013/2014. The last time Bayern knocked out Madrid to advance to the final was in 2011/2012.
