Historical Background
In the modern era of football, the successes of Burnley have all been forgotten by the majority of football fans. However, Burnley has had a long and, at some points, glorious history.Â
Founded in 1882, they only played friendly matches up until 1885–86. They saw their first success less than 20 years later when they won their first FA Cup in 1914. They then followed this up by winning the top division of English Football in 1921/20 during which they went 30 games unbeaten, a record only beaten 50 years later by Nottingham Forest.
Some 40 years later, they saw more success winning the league again in the 1959/60 season and won the Charity Shield that same year, before reaching the European Cup Quarter Finals a year later. They saw their most recent glory by winning the Charity Shield again in 1973. However, they dropped in performance greatly, narrowly avoiding the Conference League and dissolution just a few years later
More recently, they have secured consecutive promotions and returned to the top-tier on 3 separate occasions, 2008–09, 2013–14 and 2015–16, where they currently remain.
Key Managers and Players
Since Sean Dyce arrived in 2012, they have secured two promotions and been relegated once. During this second promotion, he has fared a lot better, established his team as a real force in the league and demonstrated some great character against the odds.
The Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood strike force of the team has been a formidable partnership, particularly this season with some fantastic Burnley Live Stream and Burnley on TV footballing showcases. Â
Kits, colours and crest
Burnley are well-known for their kit of claret and blue, which is where they take their nickname, the Clarets, from. Hence they are easy to spot when they participate in football on TV matches. Their crest includes the quote "Pretiumque et Causa Laboris" (which means, The Prize and the Cause of Our Labour), which appears below the yellow and black crest of an image of a lion, two bees and a bird.
Stadium
Burnely’s stadium is Turf Moor, which has a population of 21,944. This is relatively small for a Premier League stadium and is always full when it showcases Burnley Live Stream & Burnley on TV matches.
Noteworthy Stats and Memorable TV MomentsÂ
Burnley’s most impressive stat is the fact that it is one of just five teams who has won all top four professional divisions of English football, which demonstrates their range of successes over the years.Â
However, their most memorable football on tv moment would be their first promotion back to the Premier League back in 2009 after a long break from the top-flight, despite it being short-lived. Fans will be looking for more memorable moments from the Burnley on tv football listings soon though.
