Cricket: India Vs England 2021 Test Series

India Vs England 2021 will take place from 5th February. Following a historic TEST Series win over Australia, Team India are now back in action to take on England.  The current new format has been generating a lot of praise; particularly in merit to the competitive pitches and the ICC World Test Championship.

Test Series India Vs England 2021

The four match Test series will see England looking to maintain their encouraging start to 2021, following a 2-0 series win in Sri Lanka in January.  The four-match Test series will decide which team joins New Zealand in the final – India, England, or Australia.  All however, will depend on the final score of the series.

For India to qualify:

India will need to win at least two matches and draw one out of the remaining two, if they are to progress to the final.  The ideal score lines for India to qualify would be: 2-0, 2-1, 3-0, 3-1, 4-0.

For England to qualify:

For England to go through they will need to win at least three matches, as simple as that.  The score lines that will favour England are: 0-3, 1-3 and 0-4.

For Australia to qualify:

For Australia to qualify, they will need for the India-England series to end all square.  Alternatively, if either team were to emerge as winners, India would need to by a margin not higher than 1-0 and England winning not more by two margins.  The score lines that will favour the Aussies are: 0-0, 1-1, or 2-2 draw.

Current Team Form

Both teams are fresh off Test series wins in Australia and Sri Lanka respectively.  India are unbeaten on home since 2012, when England completed a 2-1 series win.

Team News

The major absentees from the Australia tour are all expected to make it in the final squad.  Captain Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Ishant Sharma who had all missed the last tour, are expected to be boost Team India on their return.

England will have Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Rory Burns all returning from injury.  England plan to have further rotation in the squad with deputy wicketkeeper Ben Foakes set to replace Jos Buttler behind the stumps.

TV Sportguide prediction

We expect India to come out comfortable winners in the test series against England.  England will be the underdogs and though they have the potential to upset the odds, we predict India to come out 2-1 winners.
