The top game of the weekend in the Premier League sees table-topping Arsenal welcome Liverpool to the Emirates Stadium in a test for the credentials of both teams.

Arsenal have recovered from losing 3-1 at Manchester United with back-to-back wins, with a 3-1 derby defeat of Tottenham ensuring that they sit a point clear of champions Manchester City at the top.

It is therefore hard to find reasons to side with Liverpool, who are 11 points behind Arsenal in the table, even if the fact the Reds are undefeated in 25 of their last 26 matches in the Premier League is valid.

The head-to-head record is strongly in Liverpool’s favour, though, with Arsenal not winning any of the last seven meetings between the sides. Indeed, Liverpool have not conceded a single goal the last six times they have faced Arsenal in all competitions – a confidence boost for that struggling defence.

It feels safe to say there will be goals in this one. Over 1.5 goals in the first half at 7/5 with 888Sport feels like a big price, as does the 4/5 for Arsenal to win either half.

Predictions
