Forest vs Spurs Odds: Conte to continue hot streak?
When? Sunday, 28th August, 16:30 BST
Where? The City Ground
Latest Result: Spurs 3-1 Forest, League Cup 2014/15
Broadcast: Sky Sports Main Event and Premier League
Antonio Conte’s Spurs visit the City Ground this coming Sunday, in what is set to be a fantastic fixture. Spurs will be after another victory as they push to compete for the Premier League title, while Forest are fighting to stay in the division.
Forest with a fiery start
Forest earned promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs, joining the league for the first time since 1999. The fans have waited a long time to see their team in the top flight and so far, they have truly delivered. One loss, one draw and one victory. This is excellent going for a side that has been heavily tipped to be relegated!
This Sunday they face their toughest test yet, the strongest looking Spurs side since they reached the Champions League final in 2019. Forest will need to be disciplined and confident on the day. They can’t allow Spurs to impose themselves on the game, they will need to shut them down from minute one. The moment that Spurs get comfortable, they will begin to strike.
Forest have been the busiest team this transfer window, signing 11 players while also saying goodbye to a few stars. They lost James Garner and Djed Spence who were both crucial in getting them promoted. So far, they haven’t seemed to miss them too much and they’ve brought in some fantastic reinforcements including:
- Morgan Gibbs-White
- Jesse Lingard
- Neco Williams
- Taiwo Awoniyi
- Emmanuel Dennis
- Orel Mangala
We may see a Morgan Gibbs-White debut vs Spurs, he has signed from Wolves in a £40 million deal. A questionable transfer but he may prove to be worth his fee, only time will tell.
As you can imagine, the Forest vs Spurs odds are very much in favour of Spurs. But if you’re looking to back the Forest they are at 29/5 to win.
Spurs to win the title?
Spurs have shown their ambition this summer with some great signings. Ivan Perisic in particular has settled in remarkably well, he has previously played under Conte and knows the system well. He’s been grabbing assists and linking play on the left-hand side.
He was crucial in Spurs’ last two games, he got the all-important assist vs Chelsea to equalise late and the assist vs Wolves to win the game. He is proving that age is just a number.
They have also signed one of Forest’s best players of last season in Djed Spence. The fullback was on loan at Forest from Middlesbrough last season. He is yet to make headway at Spurs, but he is destined to be a star.
As previously discussed, the Forest vs Spurs odds favour the Lily-Whites which is why we’re going to add a small twist into our Spurs pick to boost the odds.
