Liverpool v Bournemouth Odds: Jurgen Klopp searching for first victory
When? Saturday 27th August, 15:00 BST
Where? Anfield
Latest Result: Liverpool 2-1 Bournemouth 2019/20
Broadcast: N/A
Liverpool have had a far from perfect start to their Premier League season. They are yet to win a game this season:
- Fulham (A): 2-2 D
- Crystal Palace (H): 1-1 D
- Manchester United (A): 2-1 L
They will be hoping to turn this around with a victory over the Cherries.
Bournemouth on the other hand, have had a semi decent start. They beat Aston Villa on the opening day and then faced Manchester City and Arsenal who both made quick work of them. They face a Liverpool team who need to get back on track and they may just struggle to contain them.
Liverpool losing their spark?
Liverpool’s poor start was made worse on Monday night football as they were defeated 2-1 by rivals Manchester United. They were played off the park by United, it was one of the worst Liverpool performances we’ve seen in a long, long time.
Jurgen Klopp voiced his concern after the game but also stated that he believed his side deserved to win the game. Something that wasn’t taken too lightly by United fans on social media.
Liverpool will be without Darwin Nunez who was sent off after an altercation with Palace centre back, Joachim Andersen. They missed the focal point against United, it’s clear that they’ve adapted their style for Nunez and without him they struggled.
They have a week to prepare for their next opponents and we’re sure that they’ll be ready this time. A side that are looking for a Premier League title can’t really afford to drop points for the fourth game in a row!
As you’d expect, the Liverpool v Bournemouth odds are heavily in favour of the hosts. On 888Sport the Reds are 1/12 to win.
Cherries chasing survival
Bournemouth’s number one goal is simple. Stay up! They have arguably the weakest squad in the league and are the bookies favourites to go down so survival would be a massive over performance. They showed signs of intent on the opening day with a 2-0 win over Villa but since then they’ve been blown out of the water by City and Arsenal.
Scott Parker will be hoping his side can avoid a heavy defeat and at least pick up a point. Newly promoted Fulham did it after all.
Striker Dominic Solanke will have a point to prove against his former club, which brings us to our Liverpool v Bournemouth odds. If the Cherries are your pick, it’s likely that Dominic Solanke will grab a goal.
- Bournemouth to win
- Dominic Solanke to score
- Both teams to score
These odds are absolutely massive, and it all comes down to Liverpool needing a win awfully.
