Matchday 13 odds: Will we see some upsets in the Premier League?
The Premier League is hosting some fantastic fixtures to feast on this weekend. There are some great match-ups which will make for great entertainment.
City will be hoping to return to winning ways after losing to Liverpool. Arsenal will look to keep pushing further and further above the pack at the top and Spurs will need to bounce back after defeat at Old Trafford.
3 Key Games to lookout for: Odds and predictions
The matchday 13 odds are here and there are some fantastic opportunities to win some bets! We have some excellent match-ups to take you through. Starting with:
Manchester City vs Brighton
Game time & date: 1500, Saturday October 22, Not Televised
Man City suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Liverpool last week. The win was massive for Liverpool and could prove to be detrimental to City who face competition from Arsenal at the top of the table.
Their redemption game comes this Saturday at 15:00 versus Brighton. Brighton have been massively impressive this season, even after losing Graham Potter. They have beaten Manchester United, drew with Liverpool and put up good fights in other matches. It won’t be an easy game by any means for City.
We still believe that City will have what it takes to pull through. It may not be a romping like City fans are used to this season, but they’ll get the job done at 3-1. The odds of this are 9/1 at 888sport!
We can see Erling Haaland being a key feature once again. His goalscoring presence has propelled City further than they could’ve imagined. The Norwegian striker looks set to break the record for goals scored in a single PL season. Erling Haaland to score anytime is ⅖ on 888sport, which tells you all that you need to know about his prowess.
Southampton vs Arsenal
Game time & date: 14:00, Sunday October 23, Sky Sports Main Event & Premier League
Southampton have been extremely quiet this season. The media hasn’t covered them too much at all, they’ve been out of the news. They’ve taken 11 points from 11 matches so far this season and overall have been bang average.
Arsenal, much the contrary, have been making all the headlines. Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka and William Saliba have had mountains of praise as the Gunners sit four points clear at the top of the Premier League. They have Man City breathing down their necks behind and will need to win on Saturday to ease the pressure.
It’s one of those games where you don’t need to play well, you just need the points. Arteta will not be worried about a thing if his side can win. These games have to be won if you want to win the title.
We can see Arteta keeping his team relatively similar to the side that beat Leeds last week. Bukayo Saka will start, with Gabriel Martineli on the other flank who we can see scoring. We can see Arsenal winning 2-0 with Martinelli and Jesus on the scoresheet. The odds of this are 50/1 at 888Sport! Some great potential there…
Spurs vs Newcastle
Game time & date: 15:30, Sunday October 23, Sky Sports Main Event & Premier League
Last but not least we have Spurs vs Newcastle. Two sides with similar goals this season, make progress in the table and win things! It goes without saying that Tottenham need a trophy. The Premier League dream is looking less likely, especially after their recent defeats against Arsenal and Manchester United. They need a victory against Newcastle, but it won’t come easy…
Newcastle have picked up some positive results in the last week, including a win against Everton and a hardfought draw against Man Utd at Old Trafford. They will be full of confidence heading to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Newcastle have already started putting together a top team and have transformed from a relegation side to a European challenger in a year!
Antonio Conte and Spurs will have their work cut out. Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son have sparked into life this season after a slow start, they struggled last time out as they were locked up by Varane and Martinez of United. Newcastle’s defence will need another spirited performance to keep Spurs at bay.
We can see Spurs being held in this one, Newcastle don’t give up easily and they have goals in them. Even without star striker Alexander Isak, who’s out injured. Our bet builder using the matchday 13 odds is below:
- Match Result: Draw
- Goal scorers: Heung-Min Son and Callum Wilson
- 14/1
