Fulham vs Liverpool Odds Breakdown
Newly promoted Fulham host title chasers Liverpool in the second game of the 2022/23 Premier League season. Fulham couldn’t have asked for a tougher opening outing and Liverpool will be rubbing their hands at the sight of Fulham.
It’s been more than a year since the last time the two sides met. March 2021 saw Fulham take a trip to Anfield and take home all three points after a Mario Lemina winner. The last game between the two at Craven Cottage finished 1-1, not the worst record vs the Reds as of late for Fulham…
Fulham fighting for survival
Fulham have made a couple of solid signings and are in the process of completing a third. They’ve signed Brazilian midfielder Andreas Peirera from Manchester United, who could prove to be a real asset for the Cottagers. He has a lot of Premier League experience and a brilliant mindset. They have also brought in Joao Palhinha from Sporting in an £18 million deal. He has been excellent in Portugal, but will his skills transfer to the Premier League?
Fulham will need all the help they can get if they’re to stay up this Premier League season and the key could already be in their ranks. Aleksandr Mitrovic was absolutely phenomenal last season in the Championship, breaking the goal record. If he can recapture this form in the Premier League, Fulham might just survive…
Fulham fans, if you think your team can stun Liverpool then you may get some great returns, Fulham are 9/1 to win the game at Bet365, fancy it Fulham fans?
Liverpool looking for 20
Jurgen Klopp is looking for his second and Liverpool’s 20th league title. After narrowly losing out last season on the final day and losing the Champions League final, Liverpool will be hungrier than ever to win the major honours.
They have shown the other 19 clubs their ambition by spending big in the transfer window. They’ve brought in Uruguayan forward Darwin Nunez for a whopping €100 million. He’s had a decent start for the club in pre-season and could open his Liverpool account at Craven Cottage. They have also brought in Fabio Carvalho from their opponents Fulham, for £5 million.
The Reds most significant pieces of transfer activity come from Africa, their wide duo Mane and Salah signed different fates this summer. Salah signed a new Liverpool deal while Mane ditched the North of England for Bayern Munich. Liverpool may struggle to cope without Mane, it will be a real test for their other attackers. Particularly Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.
Fulham vs Liverpool Odds
I can see Liverpool ending their Fulham woes and starting the season with a convincing victory. Jurgen Klopp’s side is full of quality and with the competition they face from Man City, they’ll need to be winning these kinds of fixtures if they’re to keep up.
I can see Salah, Nunez and Alexander-Arnold getting on the scoresheet in a 4-1 victory. It would be nice to see Fulham get another result against Liverpool, but things are stacked against them heading into matchweek 1. Liverpool have a record of scoring a few on opening days, last season they beat Norwich away 3-0, the season before they put 4 past Leeds United and the season before that it was 4 past Norwich again!
The common denominator is that all these clubs were newly promoted, as are Fulham this season. Liverpool’s first day relentlessness will continue and Fulham won’t know what’s hit them.
A 4-1 Liverpool win is sat at 18/1 via Bet365, a score in that region is highly likely and the odds are fantastic.
