Chelsea and Tuchel looking to build form
Chelsea have had an interesting opening five fixtures, in places they have been excellent but in others they have been very, very poor. Their most recent outings have seen them take on Leicester City and Southampton.
They claimed all three points in an impressive 2-1 victory against Leicester. The odds seemed stacked against the Blues after academy-produced midfielder; Conor Gallagher was dismissed in the first half for two yellow cards.
This wasn’t the only exchange the two clubs had that day, it was confirmed just prior that Wesley Fofana would be joining Chelsea from Leicester in an €88 million deal, a massive signing for the West London club.
We could see the Frenchman make his debut versus West Ham, but with Koulibaly back from suspension it remains to be seen how Tuchel will set up.
It is certain that Fofana will add a level of pace and sharpness to Chelsea’s defence that would complement Thiago Silva and Kalidou Koulibaly brilliantly. It will make things very difficult for West Ham United.
They certainly lacked defensive acumen against Southampton, losing 2-1 in what was their second defeat of the season. As much as we talk about the positives surrounding Chelsea– the negativity is starting to show through.
If you’re backing the home side in this one, we have some great Chelsea v West Ham odds for you. Raheem Sterling to score first and both teams to score in the match is currently at 12/1 on Bet365. These odds are subject to changes.
West Ham need to Iron out results
West Ham United have been massively impressive over the last two seasons. They went from a relegation candidate to a European regular in the space of just one season! The man largely to thank is David Moyes, the former Manchester United and Everton manager truly revitalised the club and sent them in a positive direction.
He has beaten Chelsea with his West Ham outfit in the past and he will be hoping to do the same again. The Chelsea v West Ham odds are against the Irons which could create some monstrous wins:
- West Ham to win from behind- 20/1
- West Ham to win or draw, Jarrod Bowen to score and both teams to score- 14/1
Chelsea v West Ham odds: Our Pick
Our pick for this one will have to back the hosts, after the win against Leicester you have to give credit to Chelsea.
